A gripping, blood‐drenched saga about twin brothers, the men they love, and the enduring truth that true love never dies — no matter how many times you kill it.
Thierry d’Arjou has but one escape from the daily misery of his work at a medieval abattoir — Etienne de Balthas. But keeping their love a secret triggers a bloody chain of events that condemns Thierry to a monstrous immortality. Thierry quickly learns that to survive his timeless exile, he must hide his sensitive heart from the man who both eases and ensures his loneliness...his twin brother.
Shaped by the fists of a brutal father, Olivier d’Arjou cares for only two things: his own pleasure and his twin. But their sadistic path through centuries is littered with old rivals and new foes, and Olivier must fight for what is rightfully his – Thierry, made immortal just for him.
Such a dark, dark, marvelous book. I will admit I was skeptical. When I started to read the book, it took me a little bit to realize what the brothers were going thorough. We have two brothers who are bonded in a way that I have never read before.
One brother is shy and in love.
One brother is so jealous and bears the brunt of his father's abuse.
Thierry is in love with a local man in his town. Olivier follows Thierry only to find Etienne having sex with his brother around the firelight. His jealously rages and shortly thereafter he is turned into a vampire. One way to deal with is jealously is to kill his brother's lover and turn him into an immortal as well. We are then launched into a story full of men and amazing sex scenes.
A couple centuries later, Thierry decides that he is no longer going to try to disguise the truth. He finds someone so similar to Etienne, that he wonders if he has Etienne's soul. How will this new love turn out? Well, you have to read to find out :)
Folks, I will tell you that this story is not for the weak at heart. It was so wonderfully written and the emotions that flowed from the pages into me was unlike anything I have read before.
Until Next Time,
